The newly appointed Caretaker chairman nominee for Saki West local government, Alhaji Busari Muda Eruobodo has congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde over the Supreme Court victory.
Eruobodo in a statement made available to InsideOyo.com described the Supreme court judgement as a landmark and a plus for the judiciary and the country’s democracy.
The Supreme Court had upheld the judgement of the Tribunal Court which affirmed Seyi Makinde as the winner of the March 2019 governorship election in the state.
He said “This is a great day for our democracy. The Apex court in the country has finally settled the controversies surrounding the Oyo governorship election and reaffirmed Governor Makinde as the real winner of the election.
“This is an affirmation of the people’s will as expressed through their votes in the last governorship election in the state. This is a land mark judgment and a plus for the Judiciary and the Nigeria’s democracy.
“The judgement shows that the Nigerian judiciary has indeed come of age.”
Eruobodo also hailed Governor Seyi Makinde for standing firm with his policies during the period of the court case.
“Let me also praise our governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde for standing firm and undaunted while the case lasted. I’m sure he will remain committed to the people and to ensure the delivery of true development through democracy to the people of the state.
“I’m confident that Makinde would certainly accelerate the pace of development in Oyo State, ” he said.
