Seasoned journalist, Wasiu Olawale Sadare, on Monday, took oath of office as the Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.
Sadare’s resumption came as a reprieve to many party members and supporters who have waited and prevailed on him not to stay away from his job
A statement on the party’s Twitter page said Sadare is one of the few professionals who cares about integrity, adding that he has friends across all parties.
The politician resumed on Monday after many months away from his office.
“Sadare was nominated by all the camps in the APC as their preferred person for the position in the last congress of the party. But in order not to add to existing problem as the party was engulfed in crisis, he didn’t present himself for inauguration.
“As a former spokesperson of the party, Sadare has displayed rare professionalism and courage in the discharge of his duties. That earned him friends within and outside the party,” APC said.
His resumption at the Oke Ado secretariat has been commended by chieftains of the party.
The APC governorship candidate, Sen. Folarin; all the three senatorial candidates of the party— AbdulFatai Buhari, Yunus Akintunde and Sharafadeen Alli– as well as Idris Adeoye, an engineer and top chieftain of the party commended Sadare’s resolve to return to his former position, adding that they are pretty sure that he would get back to work almost immediately.
Also, a former deputy governor of Oyo State, Engr Rauf Olaniyan, said the coming back of Sadare would greatly boost the image of the party in the state and beyond.
Sadare is a graduate of both The Polytechnic, Ibadan, and University of Ibadan. He contested the party’s primary election for Egbeda state constituency seat in May but lost.
