AT last, Governor Abiola Ajimobi has rewarded his predecessor, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, who defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) shortly after the incumbent broke the second-term jinx.
This is coming many months after the former deputy governor had been blamed for defecting without any ‘formal agreement’. Alao-Akala was the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in the 2015 election.
It would be recalled that the APC won in four – Oyo, Ibarapa, Oyo and Oke-Ogun out of the five geo-political zones except in Ogbomoso where Alao-Akala enjoys the support of majority of his kinsmen.
Olamiju, one of the sons of the Ogbomoso-born politician, and 3 other loyalists of his father, have been nominated to man 4 of the Local Government and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Ogbomosoland.
The young politician, who has always been sighted with his father, is a known figure in the social circle in the state.
Like his father, he is said to accessible and generous.
