House of Representatives member, Rep. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, has described late Sen. Abiola Ajimobi as a true statesman whose legacies will never be forgotten.
Ajimobi, a former Governor of Oyo State, passed away on June 25, 2020 at the age of 70 after a brief illness.
She declared that the late former governor can best be described as the architect of modern Oyo state, saying he left the office with distinct legacies and achievements.
In her statement, on Wednesday the lawmaker representing Oluyole Federal Constituency said Ajimobi was an “exceptional statesman”, who made indelible marks in public service.
She said “He Came; He lived; He Conquered the Myth. A worthy leader. Years on his effort level and commitment to the progress of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole remains unbroken.”
Akande-Sadipe, the House Committee Chairman on Ethics and Privileges, in the 10th Assembly saluted late Ajimobi’s patriotic spirit.
She thanked late Ajimobi, who was her uncle, for giving her the opportunity to serve in his cabinet, which was the platform she leveraged to be in the position to serve her people in Oluyole Federal Constituency.
“Sadly the vacuum created by the demise of the former governor and Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), of Oyo State, late Senator Abiola Ajimobi is clear to all”, she said.
Rep. Akande-Sadipe stated that the late former governor made a significant impact in governance of Oyo state through many innovations and ideas while alive.
Celebrating the worthy life of the former governor, the Lawmaker, who served as one of his Senior Special Assistants condoled with the entire Ajimobi family, adding that Senator Ajimobi lived an impactful life.
“We take solace in his impactful life, while he sojourned here on earth. Former Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s legacies will never be forgotten in the anals of history of our dear state,” she declared.Akande-Sadipe
