Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Alhaji Daud Makanjuola Akinola has charged the running mate of Governor Seyi Makinde in the 2023 governorship election in the state, Bar. Bayo Lawal to promote and defend the cause of Islam in government.
Aare gave the charge in Ibadan, on Thursday, while playing host to the Governor’s running mate who paid him a courtesy call at his Ikolaba residence.
The Muslims leader described the choice of Barr. Lawal as very appropriate going by his track records in and out of government.
He pointed out that the combination of Gov. Makinde and Barr. Lawal is a winning ticket any day.
While advising the Kishi born politician to remain a shining ambassador of Islam, asked him to be wary of sycophants who mill around every political office holders.
He prayed to almighty Allah to bless the choice of Bar. Lawal and grant the duo success in the election.
The Aare who was appreciative of the visit assured Bar. Lawal of his support.
In his remarks, Bar Bayo Lawal said the visit was to formally present himself to Aare as the running mate to Gov Makinde in the 2023 governorship election in the state.
He expressed his appreciation to Alhaji Daud Makanjuola Akinola for the warm reception assuring him of his commitment to the cause of Islam.
