On Monday, 3rd August 2020, Prof. Olayinka Olusola Omigbodun resumed duty as the Provost of the College of Medicine of the University of Ibadan.
Prof. Omigbodun, the first female Professor of Psychiatry in Nigeria and also the first female Provost of the College of Medicine of the University of Ibadan assumed office as the 12th provost of the college yesterday.
At a ceremony held at the Board Room of the college to usher in the new Provost, she pledged to work harmoniously with the Chief Medical Director of University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo in the areas of Training and Research to improve healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
In her remark titled “Now therefore arise, let us go over together,” Prof. Omigbodun called on the college community and all alumni of the College of Medicine to throw their weight behind her saying “My policy thrust is well spelt out and all encompassing, that is why I acronymed it TOGETHER, we are all in this together and success is based on our collective efforts.”
