The lawmakers representing Oyo Central senatorial district in The Senate and Oyo federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu and Hon (Prince) Adeyemi Akeem (Skimeh) yesterday inspected ongoing work at the Erelu water works, in Oyo town.
For long, the people of the ancient town have been battling shortage of water, especially during the dry season.
Major stakeholders in the town have always used any available opportunity to call the attention of those in government to the project.
The lawmakers, both from the town, were said to have recently ‘lobbied’ some funds for the continuation of the project.
Community, religious and political leaders as well as other concerned stakeholders followed the duo to the project site.
