A united body of Saki indigenes at home and diaspora, Saki Parapo on Thursday 18th of January, 2018 awarded some indigenes of Saki for their immense contributions towards the development of Saki town.
The body at this year’s edition of its Saki Parapo Annual General Meeting awarded the Communication Minister, Barrister Abdulraheem Adebayo Shittu, the Deputy Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Musah AbdulWasi, Alhaji Dauda Alaraje, a former Local Government Chairman of the defunct Ifedapo Local Government and others.
Speaking at the event, the Honourable Minister cleared the air on the issue surrounding the demolition of the CBT Center and his recent move concerning that. He also talked about his contribution and readiness towards the Saki Powerline project.
The Deputy Speaker while speaking highlighted some bills that are crucial to the development of Saki and Oyo state that he had sponsored in the 8th Oyo State House of Assembly. He also mentioned his developmental projects like bore holes, ICT Building at the Muslim Hospital Saki, Charity Building at Baptist Medical Center, employment opportunities for Saki indigenes at both State and Federal level and array of others.
The National Chairman of Saki Parapo, Dr Sulaiman Lawani urged Saki indigenes in government at all levels and in private sector to prioritize Saki development above all other things. He concluded that community service must be embraced to tackle the challenges the community is facing.
