The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Edward Ogundoyin, on Sunday joined Muslim Ummah for Eid prayer at his hometown in Eruwa, Ibarapa Area of the state.
The Speaker who is a Christian joined worshippers to observe this year’s eid prayer and later received prayers from the Imam.
Addressing the people in Yoruba language, Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin said he hope to have perfected his speaking by next year.
“Addressing my people with my improved Yoruba tongue. L’agbara Olorun by this time next year, emi na mo ma p’owe (I will be able to say proverbs in Yoruba),” he said in a tweet seen by InsideOyo.com.
Ogundoyin said, “My office belongs to everybody from my constituency, Ibarapaland and Oyo state, and any developmental advice and idea is welcomed for the growth of our dear State.
” I will try every effort to remain in close contact with the grassroot, so that we can discuss and find lasting solutions to our challenges as partners in progress.
“Let us keep supporting the good works of our Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde and also criticise us constructively if we are going out of track, I believe God is behind us, as you keep praying for us.”
Earlier, in a Sallah message, the Speaker has appealed to residents of Oyo State to remain steadfast and committed to supporting Governor Seyi Makinde’s led administration and its programs for the development of Oyo State.
According to him, despite the security and economic challenges facing the country, he believes the three arms of government in Oyo State, with the support of the people have all it requires to restore the pace setter glory.
