The lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju State constituency in the Oyo state House of Assembly, Honourable Bamidele Adeola said over 500 indigents from his constituency will benefit from his just launched free healthcare initiative.
Adeola said this on Tuesday during the official launching of the free medical outreach program proposed to alleviate the suffering of less privileged in his constituency.
According to Adeola, the free health support initiative is as born out of passion to put smile on the faces of many people who are suffering in silence with their health condition because of lack of financial capability to seek medical attention.
Noting that the estimated cost of the health initiative will cost him over 5 million naira, Adeola added that the goal is to breathe hope into the lives of people, who may be giving up already due to their ailments and financial constraints.
He said, “As a lawmaker, obviously my primary responsibility is to represent my people at the hallow chamber to make laws, form policies and move motions that will mean their needs and make life easier and comfortable.
“But I believe to everything we do, there must be space for humanity. That is while I am here to give back to my constituency and make people smile in my own little way.
“The free medical initiative cover people with Hinea, lipoma, breast lump for free surgical operation, also free glasses and general medical check up with drugs, and the program will take place in Iseyin General hospital, Ado Awaye maternity centre, Ipapo, Otu, Komu and Okaka for medical attention and operations.”
Adeola further applauded the Executive Governor of the State, Engineer Seyi Makinde for the lofty achievement his administration has recorded within his 100days in office.
“We know our Governor has noted our cries and agitation and we appreciate his efforts towards ensure the construction of Moniya/ Iseyin road, and the creation of an additional constituency from Iseyin /Itesiwaju state constituency.
“I appreciate every dignitaries, party faithfuls and stakeholders from our two local governments who came out for the health talk anchored by our resource lecturer from UCH, Mrs Adeleke Benedicta from intensive care unit. The Hon. Commissioner for health, ably represented by Dr Wale Falana Director of Secondary health and training,” he concluded.
