The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, last week visited the Oke-Olola, Oyo residence of his father’s only surviving wife, Ayaba Maryam Adeniran Adeyemi.
Oba Adeyemi’s father, Alaafin Adeniran Adeyemi II, reigned between 1945 and 1954. His son, who currently occupies the exalted seat, became Alaafin in 1970, 16 years after him.
Accompanied by several Oloris and palace staff, the monarch had a long discussion with the elderly woman.
