Political appointees, leaders, elders, candidates for the upcoming LG election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Saki West Local Government met on Sunday in Saki town to dialogue in ensuring peaceful coexistence in the party and to ascertain victory in forthcoming Local Government elections.
The meeting was attended by stakeholders at the state level and local government level. Some of those in attendance included the lawmaker representing Saki West State Constituency, Hon Femi Okedoyin Julius; Honorable Commissioner for Commence, Trade and Industry; Hon Adebisi Niyi Olabode; Chairman, Oyo State House of Assembly Service Commission, Rt Hon Musa Abdulwasi, PhD; Former Chairman of Saki West Local government, Alh. Basiru Lawal (Bash); Former Caretaker Chairman, Alh. Salami Nasiru (Nescotech).
Others were Chairmanship candidate of the party, Eng Omirinde Sarafadeen; Full time Commissioner at TESCOM, Hon Mudathir Awujoola; Former Minority Leader, Hon Rafiu Adekunle; PDP Chairman Saki West, Alhaji Wasiu Ayesoro; Board Member of Trans City Transport Company, Mr. Quadri Ajibade; Alhaji Sikiru Ikuogbogun; Alhaji Ganiyu Alaka; Alh Yisau Awoke; Alh Jimoh Shittu; Deacon Agboola and other party stalwarts.
While speaking, the party Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Ayesoro stressed that that was second edition of this reconciliation meeting. He added that the mission was to address the issue of concern within the party and find a lasting solution to the crisis in the party in Saki West Local Government.
The lawmaker representing Saki West, Hon Femi Julius urged all members of the party to bury their hatchets and look for a way forward to progress the party, adding that Governor Seyi Makinde has charged them to jointly work together for the progress of the party.
Corroborating this, the Commissioner, Hon Adebisi Niyi also admonished the members to ensure unity in order to deliver Saki West. He said that he and others are fully in the party adding that it was where the Governor wanted them to be.
Also speaking, Rt. Hon Musa Abdulwasi PhD called and persuaded the aggrieved members to join hands together and support all the candidates in order to ascertain victory in coming 2023 General elections.
Engr Sarafadeen Omirinde expressed his satisfaction and appreciation. He said there is more to do in the course of welcoming a lasting peace to the party.
Hon Rafiu Adekunle thereby urged all the elders in the party to accommodate peace and sacrifice a lot for the progress of the party.
Meanwhile, the former Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Hon. Hammed Gbadamosi, the Special Assistant to Gov Seyi Makinde on Political Affairs, Hon Lukman Adisa Adamawa, Hon Adekunle Koleosho sent their regards as their plans to attend the meeting was changed.
