Following the alleged hijack of the party structure in the state, the National Working Committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has set up a 7-Man committee to take over from the state coordinator of the party, Chief Layiwola Olakojo.
The former Oyo state government scribe, Chief Olakojo had formally alleged Unity Forum of bye-passing other members in ADC in a sponsored newspapers publication.
The highest decision making body of the party also shifted the ward congress scheduled to hold on 4th August to 7th August. This development makes the ward and local government congresses fall on same day. The ward congress will hold in the morning while the local government congress will hold in the afternoon.
Recall that InsideOYO.com had earlier reported that the Unity Forum, a breakaway faction of the Oyo State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress had joined the former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s third force party, African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The National Working Committee also urged Chief Olakojo to hand over the party materials to the committee and stop parading himself as the state coordinator of the party.

COMMUNIQUE AFTER NATIONAL WORKING COMMITTEE (NWC) MEETING OF AFRICAN DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS ( ADC) HELD ON 31st JULY , 2018 AT THE PARTY HEADQUTRES WUSE, ABUJA.
After extensive deliberation on how to position the party for the next general elections as well as party Congresses earlier scheduled to hold in some states of the federation with special focus on Oyo State which is scheduled to hold on 4th, 7th, and 11th August for ward , local and state respectively. The NWC hereby resolved as follows:
1. To allow for an inclusive Congress as well as to give room for new entrants to the party to register their members The ward Congress scheduled to hold on the 4th has been shifted to 7th August, same day with the local government Congress. While the ward Congress will hold in the morning the local one will be in the afternoon.
2. To give a level playing ground to all stakeholders , a 7- man Commitee has been inaugurated by the NWC to take over from the state Cordinator, Chief Layiwola Olakojo. The Commitee is to oversee the party Congresses in the state . The party therefore directed chief Olakojo to hand over all party party materials in his custody to the Commitee as he seized to be the state Cordinator, once the Commitee has been inaugurated. Since there is no room for Cordinatorship in the party constitution.
3. The NWC then enjoined all party members in the state to be of good conduct in a bid to entrench party internal democracy which will devoid of crises
