Oyo state Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (OYRUWASSA), WaterAid Nigeria, Heineken Foundation and other stakeholders met at a three-day workshop to finalize and validate the state’s WASH Sector monitoring and evaluation framework .
The workshop which started on 25th ended 27th of April in Ibadan, the state capital.
WASH is Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) which the state government through OYRUWASSA with the support of partners, donors has been working on its policy since the commencement of the Seyi Makinde-led administration.
While giving his keynote address, Chariman of Oyo State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (OYRUWASSA), Engineer Najeem Omirinde thanked the sponsors and partners for their supports.
Omirinde also commended civil servants who were drawn across ministries, agencies and parastatals for a job well-done over the completion of the exercise.
He assured the sponsors and partners that the Seyi Makinde-led administration will continue to work towards acquiring safe water, sanitation, hygiene, open defecation free and others.
Also speaking, representative of Heineken African Foundation, Mr Babatunde Gbadebo of the Nigerian Breweries said the sponsor was happy to be part of the landmark project.
He added that critical project the state government, the sponsors and others is embarking on will bring alot of positivity to the state.
He added that they will continue to do their best.
The WASH policy document is a document which will encourage investment from development partners both locally and internationally.
The document is one of the major requirements to get funding and partnership towards acquiring safe water, sanitation, hygiene, open defecation free and others.
