The Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, OYOSUBEB, Dr. Nureni Adeniran has assured Nigerians of merit-based recruitment into public basic schools, based on the rules of equity and fairness.
Adeniran, disclosed this in Ibadan on Sunday, when he featured on a weekly programme on a popular radio station.
Recall that the Oyo state government opened the recruitment portal subeb.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng for primary school teachers on June 25, 2024.
He added that all applicants will go through each stage, of the recruitment exercise, which also involves a computer-based test.
Speaking in his native language, Adeniran said, “The applicants will go through all the stages in the recruitment exercise. From the application stage, through all the screening stages. Those who cross the hurdle of application, will receive messages inviting them to the next stage of the exercise which is the Computer-Based Tests”, Adeniran said.
“The Board has also promised to ensure that the exercise is merit based throughout the stages of the recruitment, as this is the specific instruction from our principal, the Governor”, he added.
Adeniran said the Board is steadfast and committed to the state assignment, promising that the Board will forever be grateful to the Executive governor.
He noted that at the conclusion of the recruitment exercise, the State will have the services of additional manpower in the teaching service, to assist in shaping the lives of future generations.
Dr. Adeniran also urged the applicants to frequently check the recruitment portal, to confirm their status after the screening, and also the date and time of the CBT tests.
The OYOSUBEB Chairman also promised that the war against thurgery in some Basic schools “would soon be won”, but called for the support of every parent as it should not be left alone for the government.
