He said the examination will start on Tuesday 11th August, 2020 but urged Applicants to go to their examination centre with face mask adding that the examination will be conducted in obedience to all the COVID-19 protocols. He handed down a warning that any Applicant that refuses to go to the examination venue without facemask will not be allowed to write the exam.

Pastor Alamu gave the warning today while speaking on IMPACT POINT, a News and Current Affairs programme on IBR 92.5fm Ibadan.

According to him, “we are not aware of these questions. Though, my attention was drawn to these so called past questions but I can tell you it was not authorized by TESCOM and it is not advisable for any applicant to rely on it”.

The TESCOM Boss affirmed that the total number of application received is 98,000 for both teaching and non-teaching position. He however stated that out of this number, 67,000 applied for teaching job. The CBT exam he said is solely for the teaching Applicants adding that after this phase and round of recruitment exercise, the recruitment procedure for the non-teaching positions will be rolled out.

Reacting to the insinuation that certain slots have been cede to the Politicians, Pastor Alamu said “that is mere speculation. The mandate given to me by the Governor is to recruit qualified, competent and capable hands that will help him deliver on his strive to give quality education to Students in the State. Let me tell you, everything is being done on merit”.

“Applicants are to print their examination slip online and we expect each of them to come to the exam venue with 3 slips namely: the Completed Application form, Applicant’s CBT form and the registration slip. In case an Applicant cannot provide the three, at least two must be presented at the CBT venue. The examination slip that will be printed online in addition to the short bio-data of each Applicant, will contain the Venue of the examination centre for each Applicant and the time. We advice Applicant to come latest an hour to their exam”.

Pastor Alamu who disclosed that there will be oral interview after the CBT for the shortlisted Candidates said for the Computer Based Test,  the Applicants will be tested in the following five areas namely; English Language, Mathematics, Current Affairs, Teaching methodologies and Core Subject.

When asked when these prospective Teachers will resume work, he said the plan is for them to resume work in September.

On whether non-indigenes of Oyo State stand any chance in the exercise, the TESCOM Chairman said they will be considered but added that the recruitment will be merit based.
