Oloye Sharafadeen Alli, former secretary to the state government, has thanked delegates of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo South Senatorial District and other stakeholders of the party for electing him despite not physically presence at the venue of the primary.
Sarafadeen Alli made this known in a statement made available to newsmen, on Sunday, in Ibadan.
He also thanked Former Governor Rashidi Ladoja for his supports over the years.
Recall that insideoyo.com had earlier reported that Alli was declared winner of the APC Senatorial Primary rerun election after defeating other aspirants.
The rerun was scheduled following over voting that was recorded in the first election that saw Mr Kolapo Kola-Daisi emerged as the winner.
The statement read: “This is to say a profound gratitude to all our compatriots in the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the nine Local Governments in Ibadan and Ibarapaland for electing me as the Oyo South Senatorial Candidate of APC, even without my physical presence at the venue.
“To all our delegates who voted overwhelmingly for me in the said primary, I am humbled and considers such a rare honour.
“I wish to also thank the APC leaders at the State and across the council areas who canvassed for votes in my favour.
“To the APC Senatorial Committee from Abuja, I thank them for providing level playing ground for all the aspirants.
“To my colleagues who equally aspired to pick the sole ticket for our district, I appreciate your doggedness and legendary efforts geared towards serving our people.
“I can never end this thank you speech without special mention of my Father, my Leader and my Mentor, His Excellency, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja for his supports over the years.”
