The Member representing Oluyole Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe has secured the approval of the Honourable Minister of Works for the construction of pedestrian bridges at key locations along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The lawmaker disclosed this after a meeting with the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi in his office on Monday.
Akande-Sadipe reiterated the urgent need for pedestrian bridges across densely populated areas in Oluyole to prevent accidents and safeguard lives.
Hon. Akande-Sadipe noted that following her earlier motion on the floor of the House, she identified ten critical points requiring pedestrian safety interventions, including Technical University, Toll Gate, Felele, Soka, Sanyo, Boluwaji, Academy, Eleruku, Muslim, and Semi-Bio up to Ojoo.
According to her, after a detailed review by the Ministry, pedestrian bridges at Soka, Boluwaji, and Muslim have been approved for inclusion in the upcoming fiscal budget as part of the first phase of implementation.
“This initiative is part of my ongoing commitment to safeguard lives, improve road safety, and promote infrastructural development across Oluyole,” Akande-Sadipe stated.
She assured her constituents that she will continue to collaborate closely with the Ministry of Works to ensure full execution of the approved projects and to advocate for the inclusion of other proposed locations in subsequent phases.
Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe currently serves as the Chairperson, House Committee on Humanitarian Services, and represents Oluyole Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
