A member of the House of Representatives for Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, Oyo State, Engr. Aderemi Oseni, has sponsored the 2025 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) registration fees for over 500 indigent students in his constituency.
The lawmaker made this known over the weekend in Eruwa, Ibarapa East Local Government, during an interdenominational prayer session and stakeholders’ interactive forum organised by the Board of Trustees of the Ibarapa East/Ido Community Development Association.
The event had in attendance key stakeholders, including leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) such as Chief Timothy Alarape Jolaoso, Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe, represented by Mr. Busari Dauda, His Eminence, Samson Aderonmu, party executives, special assistants, and coordinators of the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF).
In their separate remarks, stakeholders commended Oseni’s outstanding performance and quality representation, offering prayers for his continued success.
Elder statesman, Pa Jolaoso lauded the lawmaker’s achievements, emphasising his unwavering support for the APC and his harmonious relationship with party leadership.
“Oseni has not only excelled in his duties but has also maintained a cordial relationship with the party leadership. We appreciate his dedication and commitment,” Jolaoso stated.
Oseni, represented at the event by his Senior Legislative Aide (SLA), Alhaji Hakeem Okedina, reaffirmed his commitment to quality representation. He revealed that his passion for educational support stems from his personal experience as a beneficiary of the late Governor Bola Ige’s free education programme.
“Education remains a key priority for me, and I have designed several support schemes, including free WAEC and JAMB registration for underprivileged students, to ensure that no child in my constituency is left behind,” Oseni stated.
The Chairman, House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Oseni, in a statement by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, in Ibadan, further highlighted his previous interventions, recalling that in 2024, he sponsored WAEC registration for over 300 indigent students as well as covering Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination costs for no fewer than 754 students.
Beyond his contributions to education, the APC chieftain outlined various development initiatives in his constituency, including scholarships, bursaries, and infrastructure projects.
He disclosed that his administration has provided and installed transformers, improved water supply, and embarked on several community empowerment programmes. Continuing, he hinted at the construction of more new schools, with contractors already mobilising to project sites.
“We have completed health facilities in Ibarapa East and Ido, and I have also facilitated the construction of specialist hospitals and mini stadiums in our constituency. Contractors will soon move to sites for these new projects,” he added.
Earlier in his remarks, the Secretary, Board of Trustees of the Ibarapa East/Ido Community Development Association, Dr. Ibrahim Okunlola, urged constituents to continue supporting the lawmaker. He noted that Oseni’s performance has earned him recognition beyond Oyo State.
“This is our constituency, and we have no other representative than Oseni. If we have such a performing lawmaker, it is important to give him our maximum support and cooperation,” Okunlola stressed.
He explained that the programme was organised to offer prayers for the lawmaker and engage critical stakeholders on strategies for improving constituents’ welfare and service delivery in the new year.
Oseni assured his constituents that more developmental projects were in the pipeline, promising that his 2025 achievements would surpass his previous records.
