No fewer than 1,000 persons have benefitted from the free medical outreach sponsored by a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe.
Akande-Sadipe, who represents Oluyole Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, pledged to continue the free medical outreach for the vulnerable members of society.
While flagging off the outreach at Mount Pleasant Hotel, in Oluyole Local Government Area on Thursday, the lawmaker, who also serves as the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Ethics and Privileges, said the free medical outreach aimed to improve the well-being of Oluyole residents, especially vulnerable members of the society.
She emphasized that the initiative aligns with her desire to put smiles on the faces of her people, particularly the less privileged who often struggle to meet life’s daily demands.
“This initiative is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of every soul in our community. Your health is our priority,” Akande-Sadipe said.
“I appeal to the cherished citizens of Oluyole Federal Constituency to join us for this free healthcare support, which includes medical checkups, eye care, distribution of glasses,medications, surgeries (including cataract and hip surgery),” she added.
According to her, the outreach offers a range of services, including medical checkups, medicine support, surgeries, and eye care. She noted that proof of residency within Oluyole was a key requirement to benefit from the outreach.
In another development, the lawmaker recently concluded an intensive master training workshop for constituents focused on soap making, Adire (tie-dye) production, and business development.
The training also equipped participants with essential entrepreneurial skills in soap production, tie-dye techniques, and air freshener manufacturing.
Each participant got the sum of Fifty Thousand naira (N50,000) each through direct cash transfer and starter packs to start the business.
Akande-Sadipe explained that the goal of the training was to empower her constituents with global best practices and equip them with improved techniques to enhance their livelihoods while ensuring food sufficiency within their communities.
Participants for the program were drawn from various wards within the constituency, with the aim of creating a pool of trainers who will pass on their skills to others in their communities.
She further announced that another training on aquaculture and digital marketing skills would commence on Saturday 19th and conclude on Monday.
The lawmaker expressed her commitment to driving a radical transformation in agricultural input and output.
She noted that the wet season presents an opportunity to enhance agricultural productivity and improve lives across the constituency and she believed in assistance for farmers and would be distributing late rain farming implements soon
Akande-Sadipe also revealed plans for an upcoming constituency outreach, which will feature 300 constituents, organized in collaboration with the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) in line with the United Nations UN Women’s drive for equity in political representation.
Further to tha, she has also facilitated a Training & Empowerment of Persons With Disabilities program by National Directorate of Employment in the coming weeks.
Speaking at the event, a community leader, Mr. Rahmon Adebamiro, commended Akande-Sadipe for her efforts in investing in the health and well-being of the people. He described the outreach as heartwarming and impactful, highlighting its importance to the community.
He added that Akande-Sadipe’s initiatives continue to foster development across Oluyole Federal Constituency, strengthening healthcare, entrepreneurship, and agricultural productivity for the benefit of her people.
