Oyo state government has recorded twenty-two confirmed cases of coronavirus, Governor Seyi Makinde has said.
The new cases are from Oluyole (6), Lagelu (4), Ibadan South East (3), Ido (2), Ibadan South West (2), Ibadan North West (2), Ibadan North (1), Egbeda (1) and Akinyele (1) Local Government Areas.
The governor stated this in a series of tweets on Sunday morning.
“The COVID-19 confirmation tests for twenty-two suspected cases came back POSITIVE.”
With this, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 491.
Governor Makinde advised residents who noticed any strange fevers or sudden loss of taste/smell, to visit the nearest community-based testing centre to get tested for COVID-19. T
The test is free.
Meanwhile, ninety-six coronavirus patients undergoing treatment in Oyo State have been discharged after testing negative twice for the virus. So far, a total of 271 patients have recovered in the state.
