Oyo has recorded 148 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the state in the last two days.
The figure is according to latest confirmed cases of COVID-19 released by the Nigeria Centre of Disease Control (NCDC).
On Thursday, the NCDC recorded 57 infection cases in Oyo state. By Friday, it spiked, recording 91 new cases, the highest daily infection rate since the beginning of 2021.
Overall, Nigeria recorded 1,544 cases on Friday, brining total confirmed cases to 97,478. The country has discharged 78,552 while
1,342 deaths have occurred.

On Friday, Nigerian Tribune reported how doctors, nurses and health workers of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, are battling with the virus.
According to the report, some had near-death experiences from contracting the virus.
