The Oyo State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Barrister Mutiu Agboke, on Tuesday said the commission still hold on about 700,000 unclaimed Permanent Voter Cards in the state.
Barrister Agboke revealed this at the HQ of Splash FM at Felele Ibadan.
His visit was of plans to commen all stakeholders especially the media for their support towards successful 2019 general elections.
Specifically, the Oyo REC thanked the management of Westmidland communication, owner of Splash FM Ibadan for supporting INEC since 2007 election.
He, however expressed the commission readiness to partner more, in terms of voters’ education, process and procedure to follow during electioneering.
Cairman of Westmidland communication and Maye Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Adebayo Akande, who was represented by the general manager operations, Mr Tunde Olawuwo commended INEC for successful 2019 election outing and provision adequate information for the media.
He urged INEC to continue to engage stakeholder, create better arrangement for 2023 election, and also block some loophole observed during 2019 elections.
INEC also presented Award of excellence to Splash 105.5 FM for excellent performance during the 2019 general elections in Oyo state.
