The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Oyo State Chapter, has felicitated with Christians on the occasion of Easter, urging them to emulate Jesus Christ by making sacrifices that will advance development in the state and the country at large.
Making the call on Friday as Christians prepared for the event that signifies the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Publicity Secretary of Oyo State PDP, Engr Akeem Olatunji, said that for the country to move forward, the citizens have to make sacrifices.
PDP assures the people of Oyo State that the incoming government of Engr Seyi Makinde is ready to make necessary sacrifices for the state citizens, defend their interests and ensure that the people always enjoy good governance .”
While calling on residents of Oyo to show love to one another, the party admonished Christians not to forget the lessons and reason for the season.
PDP further enjoin residents of the state to emulate the virtues of sacrifice exemplified by the death of Christ on the cross of Calvary . ”
“ We call on all Christians to also use the period to pray for the state , as it looks forward to the emergence of a new leader by May 29, 2019. ”
