Desirous of approaching the 2019 elections with ‘full force’, members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Sunday met at the Ondo Street, Bodija residence of former governor Rashidi Ladoja.
At the meeting were representatives of all the parties that aligned to form the present PDP.
Muraina Ajibola, Ayo Adeseun, Seyi Makinde, Jumoke Akinjide, Sharafadeen Alli, Bayo Lawal, Babatunde Oduyoye, Nureni Adisa, Bashiru Lawal and others were said to be present at the meet.
It was gathered that Teslim Folarin, who recently met Governor Abiola Ajimobi at the UK residence of former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala also visited Ladoja’s house on Tuesday.
It was further learnt that some grey areas were ironed out.
Contrary to speculation that Makinde left before the end of the meeting, an impeccable source told insideoyo.com that “he was only rebuked for a statement he made. Though it was a self-inflicted, he realised his mistakes and the meeting went on…. We finished the meeting together. ”
Meanwhile representatives of the 8 groups in the harmonised PDP are to meet with the chairman of the party in the South West for ratification, which will lead to the setting up of a caretaker committee and fresh registration of members.
