The National Association of Oke Ogun Student Association (NAOS), on Wednesday honored the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senatorial candidate in Oyo North, Hon Akinwale Solomon Akinwole (Wolekanle) with an award of excellence in humanitarian services.
The award, according to the National President of the association, Comrade Richard Oladeji was in recognition of humanitarian services and contributions to the advancement of the society.
While presenting the award to the Ogbomoso-born entrepreneur, Oladeji said, Akinwale deserved the honour because of his sterling qualities and personality
“He is not just a role model but a leader whose exemplary lifestyle is worthy of emulation. Of all the Senatorial candidates’ Hon Akinwole is the most reliable because he has a solid program for the youths and the people of Oyo North. He is also accessible and with him Oyo North is secure.
“Candidates of other parties are also eminently qualified and reliable but we have trust in Hon Akinwole Akinwale and we believe he would make Oyo North a place of pride.” He said.
In his brief remark, Hon Akinwale commended the students body for the recognition and promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him.
His words: “I joined politics because I want to change the narratives and I want to set a good example for the younger generations.
“We cannot continue to fold our arms and watch some people trying to dictate and determine our future. We have a good country and the only way to make people happy is making the country work positively, I am ready and I will not disappoint you.
“Before I joined politics, I embarked on many humanitarian services including organizing JAMB coaching, scholarships, financial support for traders Artisans, football Competition others to develop and promote talents among our youths, I will do more if elected”.
