Local Government Chairmen across Oyo State have commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the appointment of Hon. Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as “Wolekanle,” as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission.
The council bosses described the appointment as well-deserved, noting that it reflects the governor’s consistency in rewarding loyalty, dedication, and competence within the ranks of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Hon. Akinwole, the PDP’s 2023 senatorial candidate for Oyo North, was appointed to the new role on Monday.
In a congratulatory statement issued on Wednesday and signed by their spokesperson, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, the chairmen praised the governor for making what they called a “perfect choice,” adding that Wolekanle is highly qualified and will bring his experience and insight to bear on the position.
“We congratulate Hon. Akinwale Akinwole on his well-deserved appointment as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission. This is yet another example of Governor Seyi Makinde’s foresight and commitment to putting the right people in the right positions,” the statement read.
“Hon. Wolekanle is one of the best minds in our political space and has consistently demonstrated capacity, loyalty, and service. His appointment is not just a reward for political support, but a recognition of competence.”
The chairmen expressed confidence in Wolekanle’s ability to deliver beyond expectations, emphasizing that the appointment also symbolizes the administration’s acknowledgment of those who contributed to the party’s performance during the last general elections.
They further thanked Governor Makinde for what they described as his visionary leadership and his consistent practice of rewarding loyalty and performance within the PDP.
