As a way of assisting his constituents who are in need of urgent medical assistance, the lawmaker representing Ibadan South East Constituency 2 in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, has helped over 750 people with free medical care and surgery.
At an well-attended event which took place at Odinjo area of Ibadan South East local government, people were screened, counselled, treated and given medication for ailments like hypertension, diabetes, ashtma, hernia, cataract, fibroid while cancer and HIV/AIDs patients were also not neglected.
Speaking, Ige, who was once chairman of the council area, said the gesture was borne out of “my passion to contribute positively to my immediate community bearing in mind that it is only those who are healthy that are wealthprogramme was put together by him and Solution Providers Multi Concept Resources Limited, which he said “serves as a platform of collaboration with various individuals and organisation to provide health solutions to the challenges of health problems confronting the people.”
According to him, “provision of free health care has been an indispensable part of my life. While I was a chairman, I constructed many maternity centres which includes Comprehensive Health Centre, Odinjo, which has remains the best till date. A lot of people who could not afford the bills in private hospitals have benefitted immensely from these health centres.
“Similarly, as a lawmaker, I have commenced the construction of maternity health centre for the people of Ifesowapo, Eyinni, Orita Challenge and other communities. This project, when completed, will afford people living in those areas great opportunities to basis health care services.
“I have also been of financial assistance to communities like Ile Titun, Iyana Court, Ilupeju, Ori-Aje, Idi-Ope, New Garrage, Orita Challenge for their health centre projects.
“All these are in line with the manifesto of our great party- Accord as well as supporting the effort of the present administration in the state in ensuring that people are given adequate medical attention,” he said.
He thanked his constituents Accord party leader, Sen. Rashidi Ladoja “for the confidence and trust they reposed in me during and after the 2015 election,” he said.
