A member of Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan South West state constituency 2, Hon. Oluwafemi Fowokanmi has told the people of the state to be rest assured that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led administration will not disappoint them.
The lawmaker gave the assurance shortly after he received his re-election’s Certificate of Return on Wednesday.
The presentation ceremony was held at the International Conference Centre, University Of Ibadan on Wednesday.
Hon. Fowokanmi, who is the Chairman, Committee on Education, has promised the people of Ibadan South West state constituency 2 a better representation in his second term in office.
The lawmaker assured them that the PDP led administration in Oyo State will consolidate on its achievements to give the people of the state better means of livelihood.
While presenting the Certificates of Return to Governor Seyi Makinde, his Deputy, Barr Bayo Lawal and House of Assembly members-elect, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Adeniran Tella, said the move is in accordance with the provision Electoral Act.
Dr. Tella appreciated all relevant stakeholders for their support before, during and after the general elections.
He appealed to the state’s elected officers to use their renewed mandate to reawaken the confidence of the people in the state.
He disclosed that introduction of technology for the 2023 polls added value to the improved electoral process. He called for the support of the political class to help the Commission to conduct better exercise in coming elections.
In his keynotes address, INEC National Commissioner for Oyo, Lagos, and Ekiti states, Sam Olumekun, hinted that the preparation for this year’s election commenced immediately after the 2019 polls which he said contributed to the success of the elections.
