The Chairman, House Committee on Youth and Sports in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Fola Oyekunle, has urged the players of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), to ensure that they secure the much sought after promotion ticket to the elite league at the end of the 2020/21 season.
Addressing the team on Wednesday at their Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) training ground, the lawmaker, enjoined the players to live up to the billing when the season commences.
Honorable Oyekunle, who represents Oyo North 1 constituency, urged the players to take advantage of having a sport-loving governor at the helms of the affair to achieve the targeted goal.
“You need to brace up for the task ahead, the only thing in everybody’s mind is the promotion and you know our governor, His Excellency Engineer Seyi Makinde is a sports lover and he has been doing his best for you.
“The only way to compensate the governor and the entire people of Oyo state as well as the supporters and fans of the club, is to pick that promotion ticket”, said the soft-spoken legislature.
He reassured the team of total support from the government and the people of Oyo state, adding that everything must be done to ensure that the team regains its rightful place.
The skipper of the Oluyole Warriors, Omololu Waheed, thanked the lawmaker for his encouraging words and promised that the promotion ticket, will be secured at the end of the incoming season.
