Oyo lawmaker representing Ogo Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, Olusegun Odebunmi, (Bunvic) is among lawmakers eyeing the seat of the House of Representatives Speakership seat in the 9th Assembly.
Odebunmi is among the ranking senator from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and will be serving his third term from May 29.
He will jostling the position with 15 other members of the House of Representatives to replace Mr. Yakubu Dogara as the Speaker of the House.
In a report by PUNCH, some of them were delaying the declaration of their ambitions pending the time the ruling All Progressives Congress, which has retained the majority in the House, zoned the leadership positions.
Some of them include Majority Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila; the immediate past Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Reps) Abdulrahman Sumaila (APC, Kano); and the Deputy Majority Leader, Ahmed Wase (APC, Plateau).
