A member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan South East constituency II, Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige has stated that he is poised to improve the quality of education of pupils at the primary level in his constituency area.
Ige stated this during a visit to some public primary schools within his constituency to evaluate the condition of some classrooms he constructed with other educational materials during his tenure as the chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government area.
While speaking at Islamic Primary School, Ori Aje, Ibadan, Ige commended the staff and members of Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) of the school for maintaining the three blocks of classrooms he constructed with staff room, toilet, deep well, chairs, desks and other educational materials fully supplied for the school in the year 2005, 12 years ago.
Explaining that for a society to be fully developed, the education given to the young ones in the society must be qualitative and standard, he said that is the reason why he has resolved to improve the education in his constituency area.
He thereafter promised to immediately repair all the chairs and desks that have been damaged as well as providing new ones for the pupils that are sitting on bare floor in all the schools visited in his constituency.
He also promised to liaise with the authority of Ibadan South East local government area to repair a pedestrian bridge that links the school with Nurul Islamiya Primary School, Odo Oba, Ibadan that had been washed away, for easy passage of the members of the community especially the pupils that are attending the schools.
Earlier in his remarks, the chairman of parents and Teachers Association (PTA) of Islamic primary schools, Ori Aje, Ibadan, Alhaji Suleiman Adewale expressed appreciation to Ige for coming to their aid to repair the damaged chairs and desks as well as providing new ones for their children.
He added that the association has taken several steps which included writing several letters to the local government as well as soliciting assistance from other elected officers in the past which has yielded no result.
Alhaji Adewale who described Ige as a man who always fulfills his promises ever since he came into politics, assured that they would equally reciprocate his good gesture by giving him full support in his future political ambition.
He pray God to continue to be with him and grant him his heart desire.
