A member of the House of Representatives from Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, Hon. Shina Peller, has called on the Honourable Minister for Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), to give an urgent special consideration to the reconstruction of the Oyo/Iseyin road and Okeho/Iganna road.
He made this request on Tuesday, 5th November, 2019 when he paid a working visit to the minister in his office in Abuja.
While narrating the hardship the deplorable state of the roads has continuously subjected his people to, Hon. Peller told the minister that economic activities in the areas have continued to suffer great setbacks due to the difficulty businessmen and women encounter moving their goods and services around.
Similarly, Hon. Peller informed the minister that for almost a month now, the commercial drivers plying Iseyin/Oyo road have been on an indefinite strike as a result of the non-motorable state of the road. He explained that the strike action has further compounded his people’s plight and urged the minister to act promptly in fixing the road.
In the same vein, Hon. Peller seized the opportunity of the visit to present to the minister a series of petitions he has received from his constituents in respect of the roads in question.
In his response, the Honourable Minister appreciated Hon. Peller for the visit and promised to see to his request as soon as possible. The minister also promised to pay a visit to the affected areas for proper assessments of the deplorable roads
