A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Dr Kazeem Adesina Abidikugu has said the state has no alternative than to vote for the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, in the 2023 presidential election.
Abidikugu, a Nigerian UK based medical consultant stated this on Thursday while welcoming the party Presidential flagbearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, his running mate and other big wigs of PDP into the pacesetter state.
Abidikugu while appealing to party members to troop out enmass to welcome Alhaji Atiku the way they have been doing in the past, he maintained that he is optimistic that the love the people of Oyo state have for Alhaji Atiku is a confirmation that he would emerge victorious in the state and country at large.
He urged party members, supporters and loyalists to maintain the tempo demostrated during the “Freedom Walk” in honour of Atiku and the way they were cheering him up in the presence of G5 governors during Governor Seyi Makinde campaign flag-off at Mapo penultimate week.
While appealing to party members and leaders to see Atiku project as their own to ensure that the PDP emerge victorious at all levels ranging from the Presidency, Governorship, Senatorial, House of Representatives and State Assembly, Abidikugu noted that having the PDP at all the positions would be a huge benefit to Oyo state.
The UK based consultant psychiatrist urged Alhaji Atiku to feel free and see his visit to ancient city of state of first monumental infrastructure such as Liberty Stadium now Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), both first in Africa as home coming.
According to him, “what should be the major task ahead of us at this crucial time is to ensure that we substantially increase the number of votes for Atiku in the 2023 election compared to the 2019 number of votes we gave him in Oyo State even though he still won, we should ensure that we deliver Oyo state to Atiku by a landslide.
“I am appealing to all lovers of Alhaji Atiku, Governor Seyi Makinde and all other candidates to come out enmass to support and cheer up their own to victory in 2023 general elections.
“It is our desire that Alhaji Atiku, Governor Makinde and all other party candidates emerge victorious in the state and Nigeria as a whole”.
