The Oyo State Government has pledged prompt release of expected counterpart towards implementation of agriculture related empowerment programmes and trainings.
The State Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development, Mr Victor Atilola, stated this in his keynote address delivered at the Official Opening of Second Round Training Workshop on Capacity Building and Skill Acquisition for Women/Youth Groups participating in Rural Finance Institution-Building (RUFIN) Programme, held at Neighborhood Market, Olorisa Oko, in Akinyele Local Government.
According to the agric Permanent Secretary, Oyo State as one of 12 states of the federation participating in RUFIN project will not relent in her responsibility in ensuring its implementation for the benefit of rural populace.
Mr Atilola said the training was a huge opportunity to expose key participants to various sources of income aside what they are presently engaged in.
He pointed out that the programme was previously enjoyed by only three Local Government Councils has been extended to six following approval by the State Government.
Addressing the 50 participants, the Project Coordinator, Rural Finance Institution-Building (RUFIN) Programme, Mr Olusola Ogundiran, assured participants of financial assistance needed to start businesses after the training, adding that certificate will be issued and participants will be followed up to ensure resources are effectively utilized.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Mr Johnson Amole Commended the state government for the initiative, promised to contribute its quota to the state’s economic growth through establishment of businesses based on the training.
