Oyo state government through the Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority, OYRTMA, has drawn the attention of Oyo State residents to the partial collapse of the barricade on top of Mokola Flyover Bridge, Ibadan.
Speaking on the collapse on Monday, the Executive Chairman, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi said he has deployed a special squad to maintain free flow of traffic to forestall road crashes and ensure orderliness whilst efforts are on to restore the barricade.
“Motorist are advised to take alternative routes pending when normalcy would be restored. For motorists coming from Dugbe heading towards University of Ibadan, Ojoo, State & Federal Secretariats, Bodija et.al., alternative route is to take the Queen Cinema or Danax junction at Adamasingba to link the Recreation Club and link Premier Hotel Junction then locate their respective destinations”, he said.
“For those coming from Sango inward Mokola, they could pass through the Veterinary junction to link Sabo, Recreation Club to Dugbe, Iyangaku, Oke Bola et al”.
“However, for motorists who must ply the Mokola route, we implore them to be cautious and exercise patience noting that vigilance of everyone is safety for all while negligence of anyone portends danger to all”, Fagbemi concluded.
