The Oyo state government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced the application for the Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative of the United States Consultate (CFYI).
This was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr Seun Fakorede, on Saturday.
Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative of the United States Consultate (CFYI) in Oyo state is a partnership program between the Carrington fellowship network and the Ministry Of Youth and Sports.
The statement read: “On the 23rd of March 2022, I shared about our potential partnership with the United States Consulate’s Carrington Fellowship as part of the efforts to strengthen the Youth Development Agenda of Governor Seyi Makinde.
“It is public knowledge that the Oyo State Government is keen on keeping the teeming youth population engaged in securing a better future and economy for the State and the country at large — based on the foregoing, I held a strategic meeting with the President of the Carrington Fellowship Network (an initiative of the US Consulate), Olusola Owonikoko to discuss collaborations and how our Youth can leverage on the productive agenda of the Fellowship.
“Today, I’m happy to announce that application for the Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative of the United States Consulate is open for residents of Oyo State. Information about eligibility and how to apply is on the e-flier. Deadline is on the 30th of July.”
The program is for residents of the state between the ages of 18 – 35 and who want to develop civic leadership capacity.
Application closes 30th of July, 2022.
