The newly sworn-in Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology in Oyo State, Prof. Abdul Waheed Soliu, has pledged to add value to the existing vision and mission of the Ministry by using technology to drive innovations in the Education Sector in the State.
While speaking with the members of Staff at the Ministry on Wednesday, Prof Soliu maintained that he will use technology to drive innovations in all the institutions including model schools, technical colleges, tertiary institutions under the Ministry of Education.
While charging workers in the Ministry to work as a team to realize the blueprint of the education sector of sustainable development, He enjoined them to be loyal, committed and dedicated to duty.
He said: “There is an existing vision and mission of the Ministry but I am only coming to add value. And by the name implies, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, we know Technology is about innovation and all we need to do is to use technology to drive innovation in all the institutions, be it model schools, Technical Colleges and tertiary institutions under our Ministry.
“The vision is just that we are not inventing anything but we are going to reinvent ourselves to make sure that value is added in order to develop our generation and upcoming generations.
“I will like to work with members of the Staff as a team and that must be by loyalty, commitment and dedication to duty. When we work as a team, we are likely to move mountains but if not, we may probably not realize the blueprint of Omituntun 2.0. So, we must ensure we key into the blueprint of the education sector for the sustainable development we are looking at in Oyo State.”
In his response, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Olusanjo Adeniyi, pledged the loyalty, commitment and cooperation of the staff to the commissioner.
He noted that all the staff members of the ministry will join hands with the new commissioner to achieve the vision and mission of the government to uplift the education sector in the State.
The meeting was witnessed by, the Permanent Secretary, Mr.Olusanjo Adeniyi, Directors, and other members of Staff.
