Oyo state has discharged 49 coronavirus patients from its isolation centres after testing negative twice for the virus.
With this, the total number of discharged patients in the state is now 339.
The state also recorded 33 new cases which brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1188. This was made known by the state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde on Friday in a serious of tweet.
“Forty-nine confirmed COVID-19 cases received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 339.
“Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for thirty-three suspected cases came back POSITIVE. The cases are from Ibadan NW (9), Ibadan SW (5), Oluyole (4), Oyo E (3), Saki W (3), Lagelu (2), Akinyele (2), Ibadan SE (1), Ido (1), Itesiwaju (1), Ibarapa N (1) and Ona Ara (1) LGA.
“So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 1188.
“Please keep following the guidelines of the COVID-19 Task Force to ensure that we slow down the spread of coronavirus in our state. Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, wear face masks in public places and maintain proper social” distancing.” he tweeted.
