Oyo state has discharged two Covid-19 patients from its isolation centre after receiving their second negative tests, insideoyo.com reports.
With this, the total number of discharged cases in the state is now 13.
The state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde made this known on Wednesday night in a post on his facebook page.
Makinde who doubles as the chairman of the state Covid-19 task force committee also gave updates on the 2 absconded cases saying they absconded before being admitted to any of Oyo state isolation centres.
He also added that one of absconded cases has been found and has been admitted at the Infectious Disease Center at Olodo in Ibadan, the state capital while the other details has been sent to the Sokoto state government.
He said “Two confirmed COVID-19 patients were discharged from the Infectious Disease Centre (IDC), Olodo after receiving their second negative test results. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to thirteen.
“We also have a further update on the two absconded cases reported earlier today. They absconded before being admitted to any of our isolation centres. After intensive contact tracing, one of them has been found and admitted to the IDC, Olodo.
“The other is a 10-year-old boy who eye witnesses claim boarded a north-bound vehicle. His details have been sent to the Sokoto State PHEOC. Contact tracing is still ongoing.
