Caretaker chairman of Itesiwaju Local Government area of Oyo State, Mr Niyi Adeagbo, has reassured residents of the council of improved infrastructure development and qualitative leadership.
He made the promise on Wednesday while the recently inaugurated 54 caretaker chairmen were receiving their appointment letters from the commissioner for local government & chieftaincy matters, Hon. Bimbo Kolade.
Adeagbo, who spoke on behalf of other council bosses expressed delights and gratitude to Governor Abiola Ajimobi for considering them worthy of the appointments, emphasising that the expectations are high for the council chairmen to perform in office.
He listed qualitative basic education, security of life and property, provision of transportation facilities, healthcare services, youths and women empowerment, viable poverty eradication programmes, provision of hygienic water and improvement of local government roads as some of the areas his fellow caretaker chairmen could give priority attention to make a difference in the lives of their people.
In the face of shrinking monthly federal allocations and the enormous cost of governance, the council boss charged his colleagues to generate ideas on how to improve on internally generated revenues.
