Barakat Bello, until her untimely death was a National Diploma student studying Science Laboratory Technology at the Federal College of Animal Health and Production, Ibadan.
Fatokun who represents Akinyele Constituency 1 in the House of Assembly stated that it was imperative for people to support government by exposing evildoers and criminals in their community to law enforcement agencies.
To check rising cases of rape and other violence against women in the state, Fatokun disclosed that there is ongoing inter-committee legislative business with the House Committee on Women to properly scrutinise existing laws and review them where appropriate.
Also, the Speaker of the Oyo state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, assured the perpetrators of the act will be apprehended.
He commended Oyo State Police Command, especially the Commissioner of Police, Nwachukwu Enwonwu who relocated his office to Akinyele local government and vowed to work harmoniously to ensure the arrest of killers of a pregnant woman, Azeezat Shomuyiwa and an 18-year-old student of Federal College of Animal Health and Production, Barakat Bello.
