Lawmaker representing Oyo East/Oyo West State Constituency at Oyo State House Of Assembly (OYHA) and candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has conceded defeat before INEC’s Official announcement.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Olagunju also congratulated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Arole Isiaka Kazeem Tunde.
He wrote, “Today, it became apparent that the mandate to represent Oyo East/Oyo West State Constituency will not extend beyond June 2019.
“I must thank constituents for affording me the opportunity of the last four years. Today, many of you trooped out to lend another round of support but some factors put us in a rather awkward and ultimately disadvantageous situation leading to a defeat.
“Congratulations to the Incoming Honourable Arole Isiaka Kazeem Tunde. All the best bro.
“To TeamAlatede, let’s stick together. You’ve been so fiercely loyal and wonderful. We ran a good campaign devoid of desperation. I love you all.
“To family, friends and associates, I really appreciate your support. Sometimes I feel I’m too lucky to have you. Many of you donated money to my campaign in spite of the fact that I’m a sitting office holder.
Many thanks to you all. I’ll be back stronger, better and wiser. God disposes all affairs. I am very grateful to Him.”
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to announce the official results.
