The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state has announced the postponement of its planned Mega Open Air Stakeholders’ Meeting earlier slated for Tuesday next week citing the need for wider consultation and better planning as the reasons.
The stakeholders meeting which was being organized by the leadership of the APC in the Pacesetters State in partnership with the state team of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors was planned to herald the concept of intra-party rally which has been successfully implemented across the 14 federal constituencies in the state with a resultant manifestation of genuine reconciliation, peace and unity among leaders and members of the APC in the state.
In a statement issued on Friday and made available to journalists in Ibadan by its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, Oyo APC disclosed that the Open Meeting would now come up on a new date to be announced as soon as possible while it still promised to offer the whole world an opportunity to know about the level of its preparedness for the 2027 general elections even as we encourage party faithful and other stakeholders to keep the flame of love, peace and togetherness burning in the interest of our great party and the society.
“Recently, we demonstrated to the world that our great Party possessed a potent mechanism to resolve all the internal crisis which had slowed down our progress since 2019 but some people were still in doubt until we came up with the idea of open air stakeholders’ meeting which we successfully organized in all the 14 federal constituencies after the maiden one at our state secretariat in Ibadan.
“This time, we want raise the bar by involving more stakeholders in the APC from within and outside the state since we are all united by a common cause. An average patriot wants President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to do a second term in office to enable him consolidate on the gains of his Renewed Hope Agenda. So, we want to set out early enough and ensure that all hands are on deck to run a hitch-free and fruitful electioneering as we are poised to return Mr. President and also reclaim power in the state in 2027.
“We will also use the opportunity of planned meeting to formally welcome some bigwigs (and their supporters) from other political parties into the APC. As a matter of fact, we do not want anyone to cast a doubt at the huge numbers of votes which we will secure for all APC candidates in the next general elections and this is why we showing our strength, determination and promise to the whole world now.” Sadare said.
