Oyo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has kicked against the call for resignation of the party chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole by the former Minster of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu and the party Deputy National Chairman, North, Senator Lawal Shuaibu.

The Party’s Publicity Secretary, Dr Abdulazeez Olatunde, in an interview with the PUNCH said the chapter still has confidence in Oshiomhole.
He said, “The deputy national chairman has gone beyond his brief because he has the party mechanism to channel his misgivings about how the party is run. The party’s constitution does not give room for just any officer of the party to make its internal affairs public at the drop of a pin.

“Mr Shuaibu needs to learn how to be a team player. There are mid-term conventions where the suitability of X, Y, Z continuation in offices are holistically appraised. If Mr Shuaibu is desirous of the national chairmanship, he should wait till then.”
Adebayo Shittu has called for the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Shittu who was disqualified by the Oshiomhole led National Working Committee from contesting the party’s governorship primaries in Oyo state has since taken up arms against the former Edo state governor.
Shittu said “I endorse it. The truth is that with Oshiomhole, this party would go down by the time President Muhammadu Buhari finishes. Oshiomhole is full of himself and he has an ego problem and he wants to dominate every environment and democracy is not like that.
“I know that many of us who are conscionable members of the party who think of the future of this party and the fact that this party should continue to be relevant even after President Muhammad Buhari has left office. We are concerned and everything that we can do to force him out, we will do it.’”
