The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has concluded to conduct a transparent and open free and fair Congresses at the forthcoming Ward, Local Government and State Congresses.
This was disclosed at the Stakeholders meeting held at Lafia Hotel in Ibadan the State capital.
The meeting emphasized the importance of a successful conduct of ward congresss in Oyo State which will be a pointer to an acceptable local government, and State congresses.
The well attended meeting at the Lafia hotel in Ibadan this morning monday July 6 2021 directed leaders and members of the party to move to their various Wards to mobilize for successful ward congresses.
The meeting chaired by the State Party Chairman, Chief Akin Oke and coordinated by the Chairman of the State Elders Committee and former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao Akala assured members that the party’s chance of taking over government in 2023 is getting brighter every day going by the rate of mass defections to APCin the State, coupled by the obvious failure of PDP government in the State.
Several critical stakeholders and Party members in attendance openly supported the political strategy of grassroot engagement from the Ward level upwards to Local Government and State level to ensure fairness, openness and transparency which will ensure the emergence of the most acceptable candidate for any democratically elected office the party will eventually field in the forthcoming congresses and eventually will translate to the stability of the party at the various elective positions in the preparations towards the 2023 general elections.
Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala the Chairman of the Elders Council and Chief Akin Oke the State Party Chairman affirmed the advantage of the strength of the Party and the calibre of the strong stakeholders to ensure uniformity and synergy which will guarantee eventual overall success at all elective positions and the take over of Agodi Government House in 2023.
