Oyo State governorship hopeful in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olaoluwa Peter Abidemi (OPA), has formally informed the Onifiditi of Fiditi, Oba Sakiru Adekola-Oyelere, of his intention to vie for the governorship slot in 2027.
Olaoluwa, accompanied by his wife and members of the APC in Afijio local government, stated that he cannot succeed in his gubernatorial journey without the blessing of the monarch. As a Chartered Accountant, Olaoluwa emphasized the importance of the royal father’s consent and support in his bid for the Agodi governor’s office.
Oba Oyelere, in his response, advised Olaoluwa to put his trust in God, assuring him of his support due to his contributions to Fiditi.
Olaoluwa also visited the residence of Asiwaju Adini of Afijio and community leader Alhaji Wasiu Alli, who expressed his readiness to support Olaoluwa’s governorship bid. Additionally, Olaoluwa met with Pa Adegbite, a party elder, to seek his consent.
During a meeting with youths in Fiditi, Olaoluwa promised various youth empowerment and skills acquisition programs if elected governor in 2027. He also distributed cash gifts to elderly women and provided financial support for a small-scale business.
Before departing Fiditi, Olaoluwa met with leaders and executives of the APC in wards four and five of Afijio local government.
