As the Unity Forum faction of the Oyo APC continued to weigh its option on the next political party to join, some members of the faction had confirmed to insideoyo.com that members of Senaco group had approached them appealing to them not to leave the party ahead of 2019 election.
A key member of the faction who does not want his name mentioned told insideoyo.com over the weekend that he has been receiving calls and text messages from members of the negotiation committee appealing to him and others not to leave the party.
He said “They told us true progressive minded persons will not leave a progressive party for another party. Instead find a way to solve the problem within the party democratically.
“And that if we can stay with the party and work for its success in 2019. They will settle us after the election”.
While speaking, he also confirmed that some other people in the Unity Forum told him similar experienced.
He said “Even, some people, I won’t want to mention their names in Oke Ogun region told me similar thing. But we won’t be deceived by it. We are leaving the party, we are moving forward.”
Recall that the faction had earlier announced its decision to leave the All Progressives Congress and had removed the Peoples Democratic Party as one of the parties they will join.
