Oyo state chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has affirmed stand with the government of Engr Seyi Makinde.
In a statement jointly signed by Alhaji Wasiu Emiola, State Secretary, Barr. Bimpe Adelowo, Acting State Publicity Secretary and others, the party called on all members to remain steadfast with party ideology.
The party resolved that the coalition government led by Governor Seyi Makinde is in the interest of the party and people of Oyo state.

The AFRICAN DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS, OYO STATE at its Expanded State Executive Meeting held at The ADC State Temporary office, Adjacent Baptist Building, Oke-Bola, Ibadan on Thursday 24th of October, 2019, which have in attendance members of the State Executive Committee, and Local govt. Chairmen considered several issues of urgent importance including, but not limited to: review of our partys participation in the coalition government in Oyo State; follow up on the outcome of National Stakeholders Meeting and South West Executive Caucuss meeting; Reorganization and restructuring of the partys structure in the state and 33 Local Government Areas. Present at the meeting are the State Executive committee members, and all local governments Partys Chairmen of the party.
B. RESOLUTIONS
The meeting carefully considered the said issues and resolved as follows:
i. Having reviewed our great Partys participation in the Coalition Government led by His Excellency, Gov. Seyi Makinde the meeting states that since the interest of the people of Oyo State is our Partys greatest priority, the meeting reiterated our Partys commitment toward the delivery of good governance to the people of Oyo State by the Coalition Government in the State.
ii. The Meeting equally resolved that our Partys participation in the Coalition Government has not made our party to extinct from political equation in Oyo Sate, or made us an affiliate to any political party in Oyo State-we remain intact as an indivisible and insoluble African Democratic Congress, a Party whose core political engagements are teamwork and collaborative efforts to deliver good governance; and to help sustain and consolidate gains of democratic experiment; and it is determination of our Party to entrench democratic principles and to ensure the delivery good of governance to the people of Oyo State.
iii. While reviewing the outcome of the National Stakeholders meeting and South West Executive Caucus meeting of our party, the meeting expresses its confidence in the ability of National Headquarters of our Party to build a very strong political platform to salvage Nigeria nation from misrule; the meeting also expresses total support for all the steps and actions taken by the National Headquarters to reposition the party across all levels (National, State, Local, and ward) in order to make the party deliver on its mandate.
iv. The Meeting, in the meantime agreed that State Executive Committee in line with the National headquarters decisions should embark on reorganization of the party in the state to make it a viable and formidable alternative in the political equation in Oyo State.
v. The meeting further call the leaders and members of the party in the state to support all good efforts and join hands together in rebuilding the party as viable alternative and hope of the masses; the members and leaders were hence encouraged to imbibe and key into principle of party supremacy in all negotiations and interactions.
vi. The meet finally express our total support for Engr. Aderemi Oseni as the corner stone of our great party in the South West of Nigeria.
C. CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the meeting is highly encouraged by the peaceful dispositions of some of our members who for the sake of progress and in the overall interest of the Party abide by the National headquarters decisions. The meeting is equally encouraged by the sense of duty of the Leadership of our party at National and in Oyo State (State Executive Committee) who sincerely stand and stick with the Party through thick and thin.
