The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, has promised even development for all townsand cities that make up Oyo State, irrespective of the current level of current development, if he is elected governor in the March 2 governorship election.
Lanlehin, whose campaign tour kicked off in Iganna, moved to Iwere-Ile, and then Ijio, before coursing through Ilero, Ilua and Isemi-Ile, all in Kajola Local Government.
“Our government shall ensure its top agenda is human capital development, and the promotion of our people’s welfare,” Lanlehin told an enthusiastic crowd at Iwere-Ile, headquarters of Iwajowa Local Government.
The governorship candidate itemised the core priorities of his government to include free, qualitative education; agricultural revolution through the reinstatement of farm settlements fitted with modern facilities to encourage youth; establishment of primary healthcare centres, and other pro-people programmes.
“Cottage industries will be established near the farm settlements to ensure farm produce are transformed into juice, and other edibles. This will not only ensure we maximise our harvest, but also guarantee employment to our teeming youth,” Lanlehin promised.
At Iganna, Lanlehin assured the people that his administration will engage local contractors, who in turn will utilise artisans, in the building of roads, schools and healthcare centres, as a means of generating wealth.
Lanlehin was accompanied by Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, former Oyo State deputy governor; Senator Gbenga Babalola, Chief Lowo Obisesan, and Hon Wale Adegoke.
Others are Barrister Bayo Lawal, Oyo North Senatorial candidate; Hon Abiodun Olasupo, member representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency; Hon Afeez Adeleke, member representing Iseyin State Constituency; Hon Tajudeen Olori, Iwajowa State Constituency candidate, and Hon Bola Oladepo, Kajola State Constituency candidate.
Also on the campaign team were the Oyo State ADC Chairman, Alh Ahmed Ayinla, and Secretary, Alh Wasiu Emiola.
Presenting ADC candidates from that zone to the people, Lanlehin urged them to vote the party in all elections, to ensure rapid transformation of the state.
According to him, the APC “is peopled by men of character, and integrity, whose love for the people, is unparalleled”.
